St Benedict’s School is a Roman Catholic Benedictine school run by the monks of Asirvanam Benedictine Monastery. It has its roots in the values of the Gospel of Christ and the more than 1500 year old Benedictine tradition of schooling.
We at St Benedict’s seek to promote, together with the intellectual development of the students with demonstrated academic achievements, reverence for God, respect for truth, love of learning, regard for human dignity and tolerance.
The Benedictine motto of “Ora et Labora” i.e. “Prayer and Work” is the motto of the School. By this the students are made to understand the primacy of God and the Divine-Human (God’s Grace and human effort) cooperation displayed in every achievement, development and growth beginning with their study and formation.
St Benedict’s is also an interreligious school where students of all major religions come together. Here, we honour the dignity of every student as a child of God, and strive to nurture the talents of each individual for service and leadership in their own community and in the larger world.
Because the education received in these years provides the foundation for the subsequent learning and living, we encourage and help each individual student in the pursuit of excellence with a disciplined mind, promote values of respect for every human person and stewardship of creation, provide opportunities for spiritual growth. In all these our endeavours, we count the parents as our partners.
We are proud to say that St Benedict’s, with its large space, closeness to nature, deep silence, artistic buildings and monastic atmosphere, can boast of a unique ambience that is conducive for attainment of the goals mentioned above.
In choosing a school for one's child, the parent must look for one where the transformation of your children through education is academically excellent, spiritually wholesome and humanly satisfying. St .Benedict’s School provides just that! We at St Benedict’s prepare your children not only for college but also for life.
