Prayer

Prayer is the heart of monastic life. Rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict, our daily rhythm of prayer draws us into a deep and living relationship with God, sanctifying each moment of the day.

At Asirvanam, prayer is both personal and communal. Through the Liturgy of the Hours, the Holy Mass, and silent contemplation, we seek to praise God, intercede for the world, and listen attentively to His voice. Our prayer is not separated from daily life but flows naturally into study, work, and service.

As Benedictine monks, we strive to live a balanced life where prayer, work, and community are held together in harmony. Visitors and guests are warmly invited to join us in prayer and experience the peace that arises from a life centered on God.

“That in everything God may be glorified.”

— Rule of St. Benedict

Daily Prayer Schedule

Our day is structured around fixed times of prayer, helping us remain mindful of God’s presence throughout the day.

Weekdays & Sundays include:

  • Morning Prayer (Lauds)
  • Conventual Mass
  • Midday Prayer (Sext)
  • Afternoon Prayer (None)
  • Evening Prayer (Vespers)
  • Night Prayer (Compline)

This sacred rhythm forms the foundation of our monastic witness and sustains our commitment to a life of faith, silence, and service.

We welcome all who seek reflection, guidance, or spiritual renewal to share in our prayerful way of life.
