The Asirvanam Benedictine Monastery, Kumbalgodu, Bengaluru, joyfully announces the Priestly Ordination of Deacon Justin Soreng OSB, conferred on Wednesday, 8 April 2026 at 5:30 pm at the monastery chapel, Anchepalya, Kumbalgodu Post, Bengaluru – 560074.
His Lordship Rev. Dr. Arokiaraj Sathis Kumar, Auxiliary Bishop of Bengaluru, presided over the solemn Rite of Ordination, laying hands upon Dn. Justin and conferring upon him the fullness of the ministerial priesthood in the Roman Catholic tradition. The occasion was a moment of deep spiritual joy for the monastic community, the wider Benedictine family, and the faithful gathered from near and far.
Rooted in the motto entrusted to him — “You did not choose me, but I chose you” (Jn. 15:16) — Fr. Justin Soreng OSB’s priestly vocation is understood by his community as a call to humble, prayerful service in the spirit of St. Benedict’s Rule: ora et labora.
